Un dels objectius de 452ºF és el d’oferir, junt amb els monogràfics, una sel·lecció bibliogràfica corresponent al tema del que ens ocupem en cada entrega. No obstant això, és ben conegut que existeix una quantitat ingent de textos relatius a l’obra de Poe i que, per tant, la tasca de reunir-los i classificar-los sobrepassa les capacitats de la nostra revista. Creiem que aquesta empresa més aviat ha de ser desenvolupada per un conjunt d’especialistes en l’obra o un grup d’estudis, amb una dedicació completa i uns mitjans dels que la nostra revista està mancada.

De fet, ja existeix un grup d’aquestes característiques, la Edgar Allan Poe Society of Baltimore, a la web de la qual (http://www.eapoe.org/) podem trobar, entre d’altres serveis, bibliografies temàtiques sobre diversos aspectes de l’escriptor bostonià. Així que quan ens vam proposar elaborar l’esmentada bibliografia vam decidir que no podíem prescindir del treball dels nostres col·legues, més quan un dels proòsits de la nostra revista és el de fonamentar el treball entre estudiosos de la literatura de diverses procedències, aprofitant així els avantatges que ens ofereixen els nous mitjans de comunicació.


Finalment, decidirem restringir les ambicions de la nostra bibliografia per tal de prioritzar el rigor. Ens limitarem a citar aquelles referències fonamentals sobre els tres temes principals que conformen el nostre primer monogràfic: Poe i la Ciencia-Ficció, Les relacions de Poe amb la ciència i L’humor en l’obra de Poe. No obstant això, al menys per al primer i el tercer tema, ja existeixen bibliografies a la web de la Edgar Allan Poe Society of Baltimore, raó per la qual decidirem partir del seu treball i complementar-lo amb aquelles obres que o bé encara no havien estat detectades o bé encara no havien estat actualitzades.


Així doncs, aprofitem l’ocasió per felicitar a la Edgar Allan Poe Society of Baltimore per la seva tasca i desitjar que, com a mínim, la nostra petita contribució bibliogràfica ajudi a completar la titànica tasca de reunir, classificar i sistematitzar tota la producció crítica sobre Edgar Allan Poe.
