The Journal’s Editorial board is composed of twelve members. Each
of them is at least undertaking post-graduate studies on Literature at
the moment.
The Editorial board is composed of:
- - The four members of the Publishing association (the President being the actual Editor in Chief), who represent one third of the total number of members.
- - Eight other researchers, four of whom have been in the past associate members of the Publishing association.
With the final aim of reaching a qualitative level, the number
of publications authored by members of the Editorial board will never
exceed a 20% of the total number of papers published per issue.

NOEMÍ ACEDO ALONSO. She completed her undergraduate degrees
in Hispanic Philology, for which she was granted the Special Award in
2005, and in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature in 2006 at the
Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. She completed her MA in Comparative
Literature: Literary and Cultural Studies (UAB), and was awarded a
scholarship for teacher training in higher education (FPU) by the
Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación. She is currently part of the
research group Body and Textuality.
Her PhD thesis is provisionally entitled “Escritura corpórea: un
estudio de la representación literaria del cuerpo herido en la narrativa
de Luisa Valenzuela, Alicia Kozameh y Nora Strejilevich” (‘Corporeal
Writing: a Study of the Literary Representation of the Wounded Body in
Luisa Valenzuela, Alicia Kozameh, and Nora Strejilevich’s Narrative’).
It is intended to be an analysis of the representation of (physical)
pain in several contemporary novels. She is part of 452ºF’s Editorial Board since August 2009.
IZARO ARROITA AZKARATE. She finished her degree in Journalism
at the Universidad del País Vasco in 2007. She holds an MA in
Comparative Literature: Literary and Cultural Studies from the
Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2008). As a journalist, she has
served as editor of the newspaper Berria and news editor at
Euskadi Irratia (Basque public radio). She is currently a PhD student in
Literature and Literary Science at the Universidad del País Vasco, and
the recipient of a research scholarship from the Basque Government. She
is analyzing historical memory and national identity in Basque
literature. She has been a member of 452ºF’s Editorial Board since the beginning of the project and serves in the Communication Department.
IBAI ATUTXA ORDEÑANA. He
holds a degree in Basque Philology (University of Deusto) and has
completed two MAs, one in Comparative Literature: Literary and Cultural
Studies and another in Contemporary Philosophy at the Universitat
Autònoma de Barcelona. He is currently a PhD student in Communication at
the Universitat de València, where he is also part of the research
group LiteraturaComparada.com (‘ComparativeLiterature.com’) He was
editor in chief of 452ºF during 2010 and continues to work as
part of the Editorial Board and coordinator of Basque translation and
proofreading. He also collaborates with the website Lapiko kritikoa.
His research lines run along the criticism of Basque literature through
cultural studies, and he works on issues of literature and identity.
His most relevant publication up to date is his book Tatxatuaren aspiro nazioaz.
ALBA DEL POZO GARCÍA.
She finished her degree in Hispanic Philology from the Universitat
Autònoma de Barcelona in 2008. She continued her studies at the UAB with
an MA in Comparative Literature: Literary and Cultural Studies (2009).
She is currently a PhD student in Literary theory and Comparative
literature at the same university, and holds an FI pre-doctoral grant
within the research group Body and Textuality.
Her thesis project explores the processes of construction of the
feminine body in Fin-de-siècle Spanish literature through the
perspective of Cultural Studies and Gender Studies. She is member of 452ºF’s Editorial Board since August 2009, and she is the editor in chief since March 2012.
MARTA FONT ESPRIU.
She is an FI pre-doctoral grant holder (AGAUR, Government of Catalonia)
in the Woman and Literature Research Centre at the University of
Barcelona. She holds a degree in Catalan Philology (2006), and the
Diploma in Advanced Studies (DEA) of the Romance Philology Doctoral
program (2008). She is currently preparing her PHD thesis in
contemporary Catalan poetry related to the representation of desire,
love, otherness and the subject's crisis. She has published articles on
Enric Casasses’ and Maria-Mercè Marçal’s poetry in some specialised
journals, such as Lectora: revista de mujeres y textualidad and Caràcters. She is coordinator and moderator in the Young Poets Round Table organized every autumn by the Centre Dona i Literaratura (‘Woman and Literature Research Centre’) (Universitat de Barcelona). She joined 452ºF as coordinator of Layout Design in 2010.
ANA GARCÍA DÍAZ.
She holds a degree in English Philology from the Universidad Autónoma
de Madrid (UAM). She completed her education with an MA in Comparative
Literature: Literary and Cultural Studies at the Universitat Autònoma de
Barcelona (UAB). She is a Spanish Lector at the University of Jordan
since 2009. She is member of the Editorial Board of 452ºF since its beginning.
ATENEA ISABEL GONZÁLEZ AGUILAR.
She finished her degree in Latin American Literature at the Universidad
Autónoma de Baja California (2006). She continued her studies at the
Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona with an MA in Comparative Literature:
Literary and Cultural Studies (2009). She is currently a PhD candidate
in Literary theory and Comparative literature at the same university.
Her research focuses on film studies, intertextuality, cultural studies
and comparative literature. She is a member of 452ºF’s Editorial Board since August 2009.
PAULA MEISS. She
studied English Philology and Literary Theory and Comparative
Literature at the Universitat de Barcelona (UB), and continued her
studies at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), where she
completed the MA in Comparative Literature: Literary and Cultural
Studies in 2008. Her current interests include the study of the figure
of the foreigner in literature, and its relationships with comparative
literature as a supranational discipline; postcolonial studies, and the
anglophone and Hispanic literatures produced in contexts of immigration.
During 2011 she was the editor in chief of the Journal and started
working in literary translation and the connections with comparatism and
the history of comparative literature.
BERNAT PADRÓ NIETO.
He is a teaching assistant of Literary Theory and Comparative
Literature at the Universitat de Barcelona. He holds two degrees in
Hispanic Philology and Literary Theory and Comparative Literature (First
national award in academic excellence) obtained at the UB. He completed
the MA in Comparative Studies in Literature, Arts and Thought offered
at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. His minor dissertation analyses the
concept of play in Schiller and Gadamer. He was part of the editorial
board of Forma. Revista d'Estudis Comparatius. Art, Literatura, Pensament (2008-2010) and takes part in the journal Paralelo Sur since 2006.
DIEGO SANTOS SÁNCHEZ. He earned his PhD on Contemporary Spanish Theatre at the Universidad de Alcalá (Madrid) after having spent research sojourns at the universities of Edinburgh, Harvard and Paris Sorbonne. After this he worked as a post-doctoral Research Associate for an AHRC-funded project on Theatre Censorship in XXth-Century Spain based at Durham University (UK). Currently he is a researcher at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, working in the Exile Studies Group GEXEL. His publications revolve around contemporary Spanish Theatre. He specializes on three key aspects thereof, the first of whom is the theatre of Fernando Arrabal (El teatro pánico de Fernando Arrabal, London: Tamesis). He has also published a book on teaching Spanish as a foreign language through theatre (Teatro y enseñanza de lenguas, Madrid: Arco/Libros). His foremost research focuses on the study of the politicization and censorship of theatre during Franco’s Spain, about which he has published multiple articles and is currently working on two book-long projects. Further to his research, he is committed to academic exchange and has created BETA, Asociación de Jóvenes Doctores en Hispanismo, a global network for post-docs on Hispanic Studies he is president of. He is also member of the Editorial Board of TEATRO. Revista de Estudios Escénicos. He is a member of 452ºF’s Editorial Board since 2012.
ALBA SERRANO GIMÉNEZ.
She obtained her degree in Journalism and Literary Theory and
Comparative Literature at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where she
also finished her MA in Comparative Literature: Literary and Cultural
Studies in 2011. As a journalist she has worked in the now disappeared
newspaper Adn and in different Catalan radio stations. She currently collaborates in the journal Redes para la ciencia. She is a member of 452°f’s Editorial Board since January 2012 and she is responsible of its webpage.
MARÍA TERESA VERA ROJAS. She received her degree in Literature from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (Caracas, Venezuela); she obtained a MA in Latin American Literature from the Universidad Simón Bolívar, (Caracas-Venezuela) and a MA in Gender Studies from the Universitat de Barcelona (Barcelona, Spain). At present, she is a PhD candidate in the Construction and Representation of Cultural Identities Doctoral Program of the Universitat de Barcelona, where she also works as a research assistant at the Centre Dona i Literatura. Her research lines focus on Gender Studies; US Third World Women Feminism; US Latino Literature; Puerto Rican Literature; Modernity and Feminism of the early 20th century; Cultural Studies and Queer Studies. Her research has been published in different journals and collective works such as Centro Journal of the Center for Puerto Rican Studies; Lectora: Revista de dones i textualitat; Manifiestos gays, lesbianos y queer. Testimonios de una lucha (1969-1994); The Greenwood Encyclopedia of Latino Literature; Into the Mainstream: Essays on Caribbean and Latin American Literature and Culture, among others.
IRAITZ URKULO. (Bilbao, 1987) Iraitz Urkulo holds a B.A. in Basque Philology at UPV/EHU, and an MA in Comparative Literature and Literary Studies. She is currently working on her PhD thesis on Basque contemporary literature and post-structuralism. She writes articles on Basque literature and culture for the cultural supplement of newspaper El Correo “Territorios”. She acts as literary critic for the magazine Berton, and is member of the Advisor Committee of the Image Studies journal Sans Soleil. She publishes regularly on literary studies in journals like Egan, Jakin and Sans Soleil. She works as a translator, professional editorial proof-reader and literature teacher.
XAVIER ORTELLS-NICOLAU. Xavier Ortells-Nicolau obtained a BA in English Philology (UB) and a BA in East Asian Studies (UOC). He studied Chinese at Peking University ad Beijing Foreign Studies University, with a scholarship of the ICO Foundation. He completed a MA in Regional Studies-East Asia at Columbia University, New York, with a grant from La Caixa, and is currently a PhD candidate in Translation and Intercultural Studies at the Autonomous University of Barcelona with a FI-DGR scholarship, and is member of the research group InterAsia. His research examines images of urban demolition in contemporary Chinese visual culture.
ALBERT JORNET SOMOZA. Albert Jornet Somoza is a PhD student in Humanities at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona), where he currently holds a FPI scholarship from the Ministerio de Economia y Competitividad. His research focuses on lyrical discourses from the 17th to the 20th century in Hispanic literature, paying special attention to the phenomenon of obscuritas and unintelligibility and its ethical foundation as an aesthetic and ideological legitimation of poetry. He presented his Master’s thesis on El autor en los tiempos de Góngora. Hacia una teoría de los regímenes autoriales and his articles and reviews have been published in journals such as Ínsula, Iberoamericana and Forma as well as in edited volumes. He has participated in several conferences, where he has proposed his analysis on various topics, and he has been part of the Editorial Board of Forma. Revista d’estudis comparatius. Art, literatura i pensament (2007-2011) as well as part of the Organizing Committee of the I International Congress for Young Researchers in the Humanities.
